Palm Sunday - March 29, 2026 9 a.m. - Worship Service ~ In-person and via Zoom
|
| Note to All Pageant Participants: Please arrive early enough (for example, 8:45 am) to familiarize yourself with your part and location.. Thank you! |
We invite you, your family, and your friends to join us for Palm Sunday worship on March 29th at 9 a.m.
This special service marks the beginning of Holy Week as we remember the day Jesus entered Jerusalem, greeted by crowds waving palm branches and crying out, “Hosanna!”—a word that means “save us.” It was a moment filled with celebration and expectation, but also one that pointed toward a deeper story still unfolding.
As part of our worship, we will share in a Palm Sunday Pageant, bringing the story to life through the voices and presence of our community. This meaningful retelling invites us not just to remember the story, but to step into it together. Also, this year we will have a Bell Choir and Voice Choir made up of people from the Plattsburgh UMC and Peru Community Church!
We will gather to sing, to pray, and to reflect on a Savior who comes not in power or dominance, but in humility, compassion, and peace. As we wave our palms, we are invited to consider what it means to welcome that kind of presence into our own lives—and into the world around us.
Palm Sunday is more than a remembrance; it is an invitation. An invitation to reconnect with one another, to ground ourselves in hope, and to step into a story that challenges us to love more boldly, serve more freely, and walk more courageously.
As we begin this journey through Holy Week, we open ourselves to the full story of faith—the joy, the struggle, the sorrow, and the promise of new life that awaits.
No matter where you are on your journey, whether you come with deep faith, questions, or simply a longing for connection, you are welcome here. There is a place for you in this community, and we would be honored to share this sacred time with you. |

IMPORTANT! Worship Volunteers Needed
Zoom Operators Needed Because sometimes the Zoom Operators want to attend worship without any distractions. Running Zoom involves turning the computer to follow the action, admit attendees, and record worship. Helpers will be standing by.
Greeters/Ushers Needed Welcome people at the door. Encourage them to wear a nametag. (Although THEY may know who they are, others may not.) Distribute bulletins, answer any questions they may have, take up the offering, take a count of people attending. Straighten up after the service.
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed Set up coffee and tea, set out treats, (there are usually some kind of cookie or baked good in the FC freezer) or bake something to bring. You can even tag-team with someone - they set up and bake; another washes dishes and straightens up.
Worship Assistants Just as the name suggests, Worship Assistants help support the pastor during the worship service. Responsibilities may include reading designated Bible passages, leading the Call to Worship, announcing hymns, and assisting with Communion. |
🍞 Help Us Build the Table – Volunteers Needed for Open Table! 🌱
Open Table is growing, and we’d love your help in making this intergenerational gathering a welcoming, meaningful experience for everyone. The gathering is the 2nd Sunday of every month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
We’re looking for folks willing to help with: 🎨 Craft Preparation – simple, creative activities for all ages 🍲 Meal Preparation – cooking, baking, or helping serve 🪑 Set-Up & Hospitality – creating a warm, inviting space 🙏 Prayer & Welcome – helping guide the flow of the gathering
You don’t need special skills—just a willingness to be part of something rooted in community, creativity, and connection.
Open Table is about making space where everyone belongs. And it takes all of us to build that kind of table. If you’re interested in helping, reach out or sign up—we’d love to have you be part of it. There’s a place for you here, too.
Contact Pastor Phil, Pastor Leigh or Jon Ruff if you are interested in helping out! |
