Welcome to Worshipwith Rev. Phil Richards |
Sunday - February 15, 2026 9 a.m. - Worship Service ~ In-person and via Zoom
Worship is currently held in the Fellowship Hall. |
This Sunday, February 15, we gather around a sacred story of light, courage, and transformation.
On the mountain, Jesus is seen more clearly. In community, love becomes visible. And in ordinary moments, God invites us to wake up to what matters most. Join us as we explore Matthew 17:1–9 and ask what it means to carry mountaintop light into everyday life — into our relationships, our choices, and our shared work for justice and compassion.
Come as you are. Bring your questions. Bring your hope. Bring your tired places.
Together, we’ll listen for love and walk back into the world changed. |

New 40-Day Personal Devotional Opportunity - Life Stories
Journey through Lent with Life Stories: A 40-Day Devotional on Madeleine L’Engle’s A Circle of Quiet. This thoughtful devotional pairs biblical stories with reflections from L’Engle’s classic memoir, inviting us to explore our own life stories—where we’ve been, where we are, and where God may be calling us next.
Created in collaboration with the stewards of L’Engle’s legacy, Life Stories includes daily Scripture, reflections, writing prompts, creative activities, and extended excerpts from A Circle of Quiet.
Madeleine L’Engle—author of A Wrinkle in Time—was also a gifted Christian writer whose work continues to inspire faith, imagination, and courage.
Copies will be shared on the table where sign ups can be found as you come into worship. |
| Ash Wednesday is February 18th You are invited to mark the beginning of Lent with us on Ash Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel on February 18th. We will gather first for a simple Soup and Bread meal, and then move into a quiet worship service with the Imposition of Ashes. Ash Wednesday is a time to pause, tell the truth about our lives, and open ourselves to God’s work of renewal, transformation, and hope. All are welcome—come as you are. |
|
There will also be a 12:00 pm Ash Wednesday Soup & Bread meal and worship service offered at Plattsburgh UMC for anyone who prefers not to drive in the dark. |
💗 You’re Invited: Open Table on February 15th 💗

- Fun, music-filled worship
- Tables where conversation, curiosity, and connection are welcome
February’s theme is Belonging: Love That Holds Us Together. We believe God’s love is not about fitting in or getting everything right—it’s about discovering that we already belong, just as we are. Whether you’re a longtime church member, new to faith, returning after time away, or simply looking for meaningful community, there is a place for you at the table.

IMPORTANT! Worship Volunteers Needed
Zoom Operators Needed Because sometimes the Zoom Operators want to attend worship without any distractions. Running Zoom involves turning the computer to follow the action, admit attendees, and record worship. Helpers will be standing by.
Ushers Needed Welcome people at the door. Encourage them to wear a nametag. (Although THEY may know who they are, others may not.) Distribute bulletins, answer any questions they may have, take up the offering, take a count of people attending. Straighten up after the service.
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed Set up coffee and tea, set out treats, (there are usually some kind of cookie or baked good in the FC freezer) or bake something to bring. You can even tag-team with someone - they set up and bake; another washes dishes and straightens up.
Worship Assistants Just as the name suggests, Worship Assistants help support the pastor during the worship service. Responsibilities may include reading designated Bible passages, leading the Call to Worship, announcing hymns, and assisting with Communion. |
Are you interested in meeting with one or both of our pastors?
They invite you to reach out to them by phone call, text, or email. Their contact information is listed below. |
