Frank Gulinello, said: I was Dave's Superintendent and counted him one of the most effective pastors in the NH and New England Annual Conferences. I enjoyed his friendship and sense of humor and deep faith in his calling which undergirded his pastoral style and sound leadership. From your former neighbors on Stark and Wellington Streets in Nashua (the Lightfoots), we send our deepest sympathies and warm wishes. 17 years have gone by, but nary a day do we not salute Dave, Linda, family and our shared joy in Marmalade (the cat). Could not have been a more fluid, generous and loving pairing! Dave…you are missed…for so, so many reasons. Our tipsy-turbulence world needs your guiding hand and loving heart! RIP.

Pastor Dave and entire family, shall remain legendary! Many lives have been, and are indeed being reached by them. May their lamps never glow dim. Unforgettable, they remain.

Dave was my good friend. He brought me back to my faith and I am forever grateful. I used to meet with him and Redding Thomson at Barnes & Noble where Redding told us wonderful stories in his still Southern drawl, and we would laugh and have a great few hours. We lost touch but I thought of Dave alot. He will fit right in, in heaven.

My sincere condolences to the Svenson family. I am sorry I didn’t get to meet Pastor Dave. but, after reading his story, our paths have intertwined. I am of Swedish descent and a Retired Presbyterian Pastor, living in Moultonborough, whose family goes to the First Church, UCC, in Nashua and who had family in Brooklyn, Providence, and MA. I even wonder, if we had family ties. May God Bless his ministry and legacy.

Linda and Lisa, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I enjoyed working with David when he was the district superintendent in Maine. Since I am of Swedish heritage I will always think of him as DSx3…Dave Svenson, district superintendent, demented Swede. I am currently living at Langdon Place in Nashua, but unfortunately due to physical handicaps I will be unable to attend his funeral.

Linda, My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I knew Pastor Dave and you for a short while during his interim ministry at Peru Community Church ... what a blessing it was to have him as our pastor. May God embrace you with His love, comfort, and peace.

I knew him as my district superintendent. He brought humor, wisdom and compassion to my experience as a pastor in his charge. I am thankful for the gift he was to us.

I was missing him already, grieving that I have not seen him in too long! Yet I will ALWAYS treasure the wonderful memories of our time(s) together. And I look forward to seeing him again someday, perhaps not too far in the future(!), as we are promised. He gave us all so much of himself, so unselfishly. He showed us how we should live - in service - to God and to one another. I loved reading more about him and all he did and gave to the world; he touched a really large and wide community and spread The Message. Thank you, Pastor David Svenson.

Sorry to hear David is gone. I enjoyed his friendship, his ministry in Nashua, his love of music, his sense of humor, the Friday morning studies in UM clergy homes and his encouraging presence. O Dear God, Thankyou for David!

It saddens my heart that such a good man has left us. For my short time interacting with him I learned a lot. This man was full of positive values and very inviting. He taught me ways to condole with a bereaved family among other things. I pray for peace and love to his surviving love ones

Linda, there are no words to express our saddened hearts to hear of David's passing. David meant so much to the Nickerson family as he did to so many families throughout his ministry. We love you and will see you on the 28th. As my daughter Ashley said, "When Dave arrived in God's heavenly kingdom, Jesus was there to say to David, 'By the way, I have an opportunity for yoy' !
