| REQUESTED JULY DONATIONS FOR PERU JCEO

Special Offering: July 20th - for the Texas Floods
From July 4th to 5th, heavy rainfall resulted in catastrophic flash flooding in the Hill Country area in central Texas. Concerns remain for additional heavy rains and flooding from Hill Country to north Texas. The sudden floods resulted in more than 100 lives lost and search and rescue is ongoing. And now in New Mexico, too. The United Methodist Committee on Relief U.S. Disaster Response (UMCOR USDR) seeks to alleviate suffering caused by disasters that strike within the United States and its territories. With a “communities own their recoveries” philosophy, UMCOR supports local efforts to accomplish immediate relief and long-term recovery while providing for volunteers to offer compassionate ministry in the aftermath of disasters. PDA (Presbyterian Disaster Assistance) is in communication with the Synod of the Sun Presbyterian Disaster Network and Mission Presbytery to coordinate a response and assess the needs, including Emotional and Spiritual Care. |
|
100% of your donation will go to help alleviate suffering after this tragic flooding. All donations collected will be divided evenly between UMCOR & PDA even though we will be using special UMCOR envelopes. Your generosity is appreciated! |

NOTE THE DATE CHANGE FOR JULY |
THIS WEEK - SUMMER CONCERT AT PERU COMMUNITY CHURCH
On Tuesday, July 15th at 7:00 pm, the Strawhatters Community Band will be holding an outdoor (weather permitting) concert at Peru Community Church Fellowship Hall. Bring your own chairs or blankets for outdoor seating. There is no charge, although the band will be "passing the hat" if you would like to make a donation. If the weather doesn't allow an outdoor event, the concert will be held inside the Fellowship Hall. The Strawhatters will also be in concert at Plattsburgh UMC on 7/22, and at Saranac UMC on 8/19. |

An Opportunity to Join the Worship Team |
Friends,
Do you have a heart for worship, creativity, or a desire to help others connect with God in meaningful ways? We’re putting together a Seasonal Worship Planning Team, and we’d love for you to be part of it! We will meet no more than 5 times a year. (August, September, November January, April)
This team will help shape our worship services—bringing together creative elements to help our community experience God’s presence. Whether you’re a musician, artist, tech-savvy, a good brainstormer, or simply someone who loves worship, there’s a place for you at the table. We will also be looking for ways to increase involvement in worship. (ie; Greeters, Ushers, Communion Servers, Liturgists/Worship Assistants etc...)
Our first meeting will be Monday, August 11 at 10 am in the Church office, where we’ll share ideas, look ahead to the next season of worship, and begin planning together.
If you’re interested or just curious, let us know! There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the sanctuary for you to put your name, email address and phone number.
Let’s create something beautiful—together.
In grace and gratitude, Phil Richards |
Congregational Vote on Budget and Inactive Members 7/20/25 Pick up a copy of these documents in the back of the church! |
Note: The individuals on this list will be placed on inactive status. They will not be removed from the rolls at this time.
If any member is moved to inactive or removed from the rolls, they are always welcome to return.
This process will be conducted annually to ensure the accuracy and maintenance of the rolls. Please note that this task has not been performed since 1996. |
| Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026 The Church Council has carefully prepared the above proposed budget. This budget has been developed with the goal of meeting our financial needs without drawing from the Endowment Fund. (Subject to change prior to the vote based on further discussion with District Superintendent, Pastor Phil, Pastor Leigh and the Church Council.) |
|
| The individuals on this list will be removed from the rolls. They were moved to inactive in 1996. |

An Invitation from Pastor Phil & Pastor Leigh |
Greetings Friends,
Pastor Leigh and I are incredibly excited to begin ministry with you on July 6th.
As we begin this new journey together, we would like to invite all in the congregation and community to "Getting to Know Us / Visioning" Sessions on either Thursday, July 17th or Thursday, July 31st at 6 p.m. Our hope is that you can attend one of these meetings.
We will meet outside by the gazebo in the town park behind the Fellowship Center. (Bring outdoor chairs.) If it rains, the plan will be to meet in the Chapel in the Fellowship Center.
At these gatherings, Leigh and I will share a little bit about ourselves, ask some questions about your dreams and visions for this congregation, and help each of us get to know you better.
We will finish our gatherings at 7:30 p.m.
Blessings, Pastor Phil Richards |
